Writers in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland have a unique opportunity to develop their skills as crime writers in two seminars and workshops, and to pitch their unpublished work to one of Scotland's leading specialist crime writing literary agents.
The project begins with two afternoon seminars and workshops in Inverness and in Lerwick, Shetland, featuring two of Scotland's best-selling crime writers - Allan Guthrie and Stuart MacBride. Allan's workshop will give hands-on examples and insight into how to be published as a crime writer in the current market, and Stuart's focuses on the importance of dynamic plotting using mind-mapping and other techniques he has developed in becoming one of Scotland's most successful crime authors.
The workshops and seminars are primarily aimed at writers wishing to develop their skills in writing for the successful and growing market for crime fiction - in which Scotland is a global leader - but they are also of great use to writers of fiction in general.
